- shall は will と同じ意味で使われることが多い。（依頼や申し出、格言や命令を表して未来のことを表す）
- shallだと礼儀正しさやフォーマルな感じを加えることができるが、現代英語ではwillの方が好まれる。
- 厳密な規則ではないが、伝統的に I や we が主語で単純な未来を表すのに shall が使われてきた。

- I shall become a doctor.
- I shall go to the beach if it's sunny outside.
- I shall cry every time I remember you.
- You shall have this reward.
［丁寧な申し出・提案］
- Shall we dance?
- Shall I go now?
- Shall I invite them?
［丁寧な命令や要求］

- You shall abide by the law.
- Students shall not enter this room.
- There shall be no trespassing on this property.
- Tomorrow, you shall climb to the top of Mt. Everest.
